First of all, hello. I'm Einlanzers. I'm a friend of Dyce's from High School (kinda). I plan on showing up to the LAN with my girlfriend we have installed:
CS:S, TF2, L4D, and much more.
I had a few questions though:
1) Networking: Are you providing all the equipment/cables, or do I need to bring anything of mine own? No wireless required, right (I don't have one installed in my PC).
2) Deskspace: Are you guys are supplying a desk-space and some sort of power strip for us? I guess what I'm asking is what do you expect most people need to bring?
3) Gaming: How exactly does the lineup work? Do we have a set rotation and everyone tries to stick to? Or is it just whoever wants to play whatever can play that with one another? Will there be tournaments?
4) Drinks: What drinks are being supplied tongue.gif ?
5) Friends: I may have a few friends from school that have CS:S/TF2/L4D is it alright if I invite them? Is there a limit to how many I invite wink.gif ?

Thanks for reading and sorry for being so late,
Einlanzers

Welcome to the site, and I'm glad to have you attending this weekend. As for your questions:
1) Cat 5e or higher at least 10' long. We have the rest covered.
2) Best is to bring a power strip. We usually have extras, but its better to be prepared.
3) We usually play a single game as a group. Majority of progression happens by in-game custom vote.
4) Drinks were going unused so we no longer provide them. Burgers and hotdogs w/chips are provided with the $5 cover charge.
5) The more the merrier. Please just have them RSVP at http://www.lanzgaming.net/index.php?cent=rsvp so I can have an accurate count. I don't want to be shy food stuffs.

Hi Chaz,

Do you know Dave from SHS or Career Center?

1. We have a 24-port Gigabit switch as well as some smaller 5~8 ports that we use for the network. We do have some extra cat6 cables, but it is always recommended to bring one if you have one.

2. We have tables/chairs that we setup in the church's fellowship hall (think something like a gym) and we use those (towers on floor/monitors and peripherals on the tables). Bring a power-strip. Personally I bring a UPS just to be on the safe-side, then again I also have to worry about the server.

3. We have a rough rotation. Usually when people start getting tired of one game we will move to the next, or if some people don't have a particular game we'll limit the game play through time. As for tournaments, we do have some stats trackers set up, but not all games have it working.

4. Currently none. After having several lans where basically no one (outside of ~5 people) actually drank the provided beverages, we gave up and let people bring whatever they want.

5. <What Matthew Said>

Alright thanks for the quick responses guys. Also I forgot to mention that if you need anything scripted for pretty much any of the Source games (CS:S, TF2, L4D) as far as a server-side plugin let me know. I'm an active member of Eventscripts which is a group of people writting open source code to better those games.

Secondly, is there an easy way to change my RSVP from +1 to +2 (I think I'm going to bring my brother along).

Not really... just when they are gone they are gone... (food stuffs haven't been a problem in the past.)
